About this object
The cups follow the usual shape. On the front on a white ground is the Russian imperial eagle in black with the three crowns. On the eagle's breast are two medallions with coats of arms. There are gilded bands around the lip, the base and where the foot joins the cup. Also there are gilded leaves on the handle. These are part of the service sent to the Grand Duke Paul by Frederick the Great in 1775.
