About this object

The central body of the vase has four quatrefoil medallions, each painted with a military scene. There are sprays of oak leaves with a bow knot in white and gold above each one. The background is an imitation of rose de Pompadour. There are four rope-like pieces suspended from the rim. The cover has a pine cone finial. There is brass around the rim and cover where the body joins the pedestal foot and base.
