About this object

The perfume flask is oval in shape with a gilt metal cap and chain. Around the edge is a garland of flowers and leaves on a pink ground. On one side a woman is depicted kneeling before an altar. On the other is a scene from a classical subject with four women. Two stand to the left with one woman supporting the other. To the right is a seated woman with another woman behind her. Both sides have swags of leaves at the top and near the bottom, an acroteria motif and acanthus leaves.
