About this object

The oval box is blue with white designs. The shallow end of the box opens lengthwise and inside are openings in the bottom and in the cover perhaps to hold miniatures. It is set in a gilt metal frame and is surrounded by an ivory frame. On the cover is an oval jasperware medallion. Pictured is a female figure dressed in a classical costume which is blown by the wind as she walks to the left. She holds some flowers in her left hand and a small cupid is reaching up to grasp them. The border is a series of daisies.
