About this object

The statutette is of a young woman standing. She is an allegory for Europe from a set of the four continents. She holds a scepter in her right hand with one end resting on her shoulder. She holds a piece of fruit in her left hand. At her right foot is a globe and a book, and at her left foot is a cornucopia. She wears a reddish purple crown on her head and over her shoulders is a mantle lined in ermine. She wears a blue bodice, with rust red panels hanging from her waist, a white skirt with flower clusters, and sandels. She stands on a white base with rococo scrolls touched with gold.
