About this object

Porcelain portions are the triangular base, three parts of the stem, bobeches and holders for candles. Other parts are gilt bronze. Triangular bases are decorated on each face with the star of the Imperial Order of St. George the Martyr surrounded by a garland of leaves, while each of the three sections above the feet have an acanthus leaf from which is suspended the ribbon of the Order of St. George. Above the base is a section in gilt bronze carved with acanthus leaves. Next above is a porcelain section with garlands of leaves in green and acanthus leaves and scrolls in white touched with gold. Next comes a gilt bronze section from which spring six branches with goats heads, surmounted by the porcelain bobeches and candleholders. Another section in the center is the porcelain with acanthus leaves touched with gold. Next comes a bronze section with three smaller branches for candles. Whole is topped by a single holder for a candle in porcelain.
