About this object

In the rectangular panel on each cup is painted a scene of a Cossack raid. Mounted cossacks are riding to the attach against the background of a burning village, etc. on a ground of plum with some gilding. Each saucer has four panels in the outer section; in two, different seascapes and two are plum colored with gilding. a-c: 4 horses with riders carrying swords, explosion in background; d: 4 horses drawing a carriage with three men trying to escape the shots of another horseman in the distance; e: three soldiers on horses at th shore of a lake / sea; f: a soldier on a horse and one on foot, apparently scouts; g,h: scenes with explosions; i: field, road, dead tree; j: sea and rocks; k,l: a scene in blue and green with stream, pine tree, mountains.
