About this object
In center of plate is a painting of a Russian peasant in native costume sitting on a carved porch playing an accordian. The decoration is done in a modern manner in bright colors and gold on a white ground. The rim has occasional flowers, leaves and a bird in gold, red and brown. Overall the goldwork is beautifully tooled. Paste is somewhat dirty.
