About this object

Cup has painted on the front an allegorical scene connected with a 25th anniversary. To left is a veiled woman pointing to some letters written on a tablet. Next is a woman holding a book and looking upward. In center is painted a marble pedestal on which rest marble busts with a Cupid holding a banderole above them. At right is a female figure holding an anchor. In background are mountains and evergreen trees. Rest of cup is decorated with two lyres each with laurel leaves in gold on a white ground.
