About this object

In the center of the dessert plate bordered by a row of gold dots is the imperial coat of arms, topped by the imperial crown. It is featured on the white ermine lining of a gold imperial mantle. The medallion of the double-headed eagle is encircled by the chain of St. Andrew with the eagle, rather than the cross of St. Andrew, at the bottom. The ornament on the rim is very elaborate with griffins alternating with wreaths in gold on a cobalt blue ground. A wide gold band, tooled with a Greek key design, enlivens the border of the plate.
