About this object
The teapot has the cipher of Count Gregory Orlov in gold flanked by military banners and as part of the decoration. Rococo in shape, the lid and bottom sections are finely painted with a fish-scale design in gold on a dark cobalt blue ground. Romancing putti sitting on a grassy mound form the handle of the lid. The spout and handle are gilded.
