About this object

A partly glazed porcelain figurine of a milkmaid dressed in an empire costume, a white blouse and a long blue dress trimmed in tooled gold. She wears a finely tooled gilt kokoshnik upon her head, across her shoulders is a balance imitating wood for carrying two milk buckets. Base is painted brown and green with gold around rim.
