About this object
The ground is turquoise-blue. On both the cup and saucer is a medallion reserved in white containing a coat of arms composed of the crown-topped ermine mantle enclosing two eagles, a shield with the figure of a warrior angel, and a latin motto: "In Deo Spes Mea". It is the coat of arms of Prince Ivan Sergeevich Bariatinskii, Russian ambassador to the Court of Versailles fro 1773 to 1785. At the rim of each piece is a vine scroll in gold on white.
