About this object

Wide rim in true green bordered by narrow gold bands; decorated in raised gold paint with the initial "N" over two sprays of laurel leaves and berries; two more sprays below tied with a bow; on either side of rim, a quatrefoil with four dots. In the center of each plate is a painted military scene, usually of a Napoleonic battle, labeled underneath in overglaze aubergine with the location as designated above.
