The background is pink. The shape of the cup is cylindrical, on one side the cup is painted with a young man and a young woman seated in a landscape setting, the panel is framed by a gilt and silver beaded border surrounded by floral swags and lattice motifs, which are repeated in the deep flaring sides of the saucer, the center of the saucer is painted with a stringed instrument and music sheets, sorrounded by sprays of flowers and leaves all on a white ground.
