About this object
The medallion contains the bust of Catherine the Great in profile, facing to the right. The figure is in white biscuit and the background imitates the blue jasper of Wedgwood. Catherine wears a small crown and a low-cut dress. Her hair falls in curls over her shoulders. The frame is in ormolu and is of the period. There is a Russian inscription on the back.
