About this object

Both cup and saucer have a pale yellow ground with areas reserved in white that are painted with rebuses. The saucer has three medallions painted with rebuses that have been deciphered as follows: "vous soupirez pour elle"(you long for her), "elle a su m'enflammer"( she has enflamed me), 'j'ai découvert ses attraits"(I have discovered her attractions). In the center of the saucer there is a cluster of trophies and leaves. All the yellow areas are painted with delicate arabesques, and a Greek key design in blue.
