About this object

Both cup and saucer have pale yellow ground with areas reserved in white that are painted with rebuses. Two medallions on the read as follows: "elle est ravissante" (she is ravishing) and "elle surpasse tout par sa beauté" (her beauty surpasses everything). All the yellow areas are painted with delicate arabesques On the front and back underneath the medallions there is Greek key design in blue.
