About this object

Both cup and saucer have yellow grounds with areas reserved in white that are painted with rebuses. The cup has two medallions that read as follows: "et il vous possédait" (and she possesses you) and the other "aimez tout dans elle" (love everything about her.) The saucer has three medallions painted with rebuses that read as follows: "aimez sa vertue"(love her virtue), "elle sait aimer" (she knows how to love), and a third one unsolved. In the center of the saucer is a cluster of trophies and leaves. All the yellow areas are painted with delicate arabesques.
