About this object

Both cup and saucer have pale yellow grounds reserved in white that are painted with rebuses. Two on the cup read "et il vous possédait" (she possesses you) and the other "aimez tout dans elle" (love everything about her). The saucer has three medallions painted with rebuses that read as follows: "aimez sa vertue" (love her virtues), "elle sait aimer" (she knows how to love), and a third one unsolved ("et il.."). On the center of the saucer has a cluster of trophies and leaves, all the yellow areas are painted with delicate arabesques.
