About this object

The flaring upper section of this trumpet-shaped glass is gilded, silvered, and painted. On the front is a view of the Palace Square, Alexander Monument and the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. Floral decoration ornaments the opposite side. The floral design in gilt is painted on both the exterior and interior of the glass. Below this is a wide band, cut in a diamond pattern. Star-shaped foot has gilt band and is cut with sunburst underneath.
