About this object

This is a low goblet from the "Service with a wide facet (s shirokoi gran'iu)." The bowl is cut with a thinner rim and then the thicker body is divided into eight large facets. The base of the bowl flares outward and is cut as an octagon. The short stem is also cut into eight facets, all of which flow smoothly into the thickly cut foot cut in eight "petals."
