About this object

The shaft of the lamp is composed of four egg-shaped pieces alternating with four eight sided faceted discs. There are ormolu acanthus leaves at the joinings. The lowest section is saucer like, and is rimmed with acanthus leaves made in ormolu and beading. This is all standing on a flat triangular ormolu base with incurving sides. There is a finial in pale green jade of a man holding an instrument, and a scalloped lace shade.
