About this object

The statuette shows a walking pheasant. He is carved in a hardstone with eyes made from sapphires. The bord is upright and it strides forward. Its wings are folded against its body and its tail extends horizontally to the back. The base is a slice of agate which is polished on the top where the bird is walking. The top is flat but the sides slope upwards.
