About this object

A traveling trunk made by "Meubles de Voyage H.Bert" in Avignon, France, circa 1900s. The frame is bentwood decorated with black stencil design with brass studs and brass lock plates. Leather handles top stitched, PR side fastened and secured with three tacks and bracket and adjustable hings on left side to accomodate resizable handle. Twenty metal reinforced corners with leather handles. Interior lined with gingham printed paper; plaid cotton twill joining strip on hinge. PR side has metal hinge; hinge missing on PL side; missing tray
