About this object

Labeled "Icon Room” handwritten on taped paper label on the side; and has secondary tag "Porcelain Room/Icon Room Passage/Icon Room"; contains covers. This series of trunks was presumably used for storing closing-the-house supplies, including furniture covers for each room, as labeled, in the Hillwood mansion. After Marjorie Post’s departure from Hillwood to Camp Topridge for the summer or to Mar-A-Lago for the winter, a crew stayed behind to close Hillwood.
