About this object

The corset cover (.1) is constructed with bands of cotton lawn and banded lace. The shoulder straps are made of lace with threaded satin ribbon. It ties closed in the center front with a bow at the top of the bodice and at them waist. The bodice is also decorated at the shoulder front and back only with satin ribbon bows with eight loops. The petticoat (.2) is similar to the bodice and closes on the left (proper) with a three button placket. The bottom of the hem is finished with decorative machine lace. There is a monogrammed “MMC” on the front right (proper) and there is a decorative bow of wide ivory satin at center front and center back.
