About this object

The bracelet, brooch, and earrings are in the shape of a traditional Russian yoke called a duga. Like real yokes, these are enriched by small bells suspended from chains or silver ribbons. The shape of a yoke and the naturalistic and abstract enameled ornaments reflect the search for a new style inspired by folklore that prevailed in 19th century Russian design.
