About this object

Circular toque shape, the hat itself is created by rolled folds applied horizontally around the metal frame, incased in brown lace with just a tracery pattern of winding branches with small open spaced leaves intersecting in an implied, upturned flower. The hat is open at the top with a wired ribbon over strap of brown velvet. The underside of the hat is circled in a petal shape formed by brown flocked wire and the frame itself is covered in shirred peach netting. The hat is ornamented under the back, just to the left (facing) with velvet ribbon 1.5” wide, emerging from under the frame and meeting to form a single knotted bow with two small 1.25” circles of brown synthetic horse hair. Additionally there are two small loops of brown elastic at the edge to secure the hat with pins.
