About this object

This is a view of Cologne from along the Rhine River, with the town walls surrounding medieval houses along the shore. A large yellowish tower with a tall spire dominates the town. Several sailing vessels are lying at anchor in the harbor, and a bridge can be seen behind them. In the foreground a group of menappear to be unloading sacks from a small boat. Numerous people on the beach are going about various jobs.
