About this object

Small silver gilt cross decorated in champlevé enamel in white, blue and pale green. In center of blue enamel is the patriarchal cross. Above is the Monomach crown topped by a small cross. On reverse, in relief, is an inscription in a circle surrounding a cross. On left arms of the cross is the letter M for Michael Romanov, surmounted by the Monomach crown and on the right arm N II for Nicholas II, surmounted by the imperial crown. On top of the cross is griffin holding shield and a sword (personal emblem of the boyars Romanov) in a medallion. On bottom of cross are dates 1613 and 1913 in old Slavonic.
