About this object

Third class. Gold ball-tipped maltese cross enameled red with gold imperial eagles between the arms. Central white medallion shows Saint's monogram SS in faded red surrounded by a gold band with green laurels. Reverse is plain gold with identical center, gold crossed swords and a pleated bowknot indicate a military award.
