About this object

The scissors grinder in long hair has a hat and coat set with blue jewels short trousers set with red jewels and boots set with jewels. The scissors grinding machine is in silver with details in enamel. All this rests on a lapis lazuli platform. The rectangular base slants inward from top to bottom. The front and back has a blue enamel background imitating lapis lazuli. The watch-clock has a white enameled face and is framed in half pearls. To the right is a peasant woman dancing in silver set with blue and red jewels. The borders on all sides are engraved with various patterns and on the top are enameled motifs in green and violet. At the four corners of the base are female herms as pilasters. The ends have enameled flowers and a bowknot in white, blue and green.
