About this object
Salver or tray has central raised section enameled in turquoise in a technique called filigree enamel. Attached to this is a double monogram for Alexander III and his wife, Maria Feodorovna, all wrought in silver. Inscription. OUtisde this is a border of filigree enamel with the lotus blossom alternating with a floral motif in a triangle. Outer edge is filigree enamel, red, turquoise, green, pale blue and white. Inner section has apapyrus flower, then fretwork.
