About this object

Rectangular box with rounded corners. The enamel is painted in copper and the box has a copper gilt hinge and thumbpiece. The cover has a scene in grisaille of Neptune riding in a shell drawn by sea-horses and carrying a tritdent. The sides are painted with leaves in green and scrolls in gold on a black ground.
