About this object

The background is white. The shape is curved with an opening on one side for the missing watch, while the upper portion has five graduated prongs to hold rings. On the side for the watch is a continuous landscape with a harbor scene at the left and at the right a country scene with a farmhouse, sheep and shepherds. On the opposite face is a well painted still life with fruit, peaches and grapes and two doves against a grey ground. These scenes are transfer prints over painted in opaque enamels. They are surrounded with rococo frames in raised gilt scrolls. The rest fingers are painted with sprays of flowers. The base is in gilt copper, ribbed at the sides.
