About this object

Background is white. On the cover and four sides are landscapes painted in full colors with raised gilt scroll frames. The scenes are as follows: on the cover-at the left an urn on a pedestal, a ruin and next a man walking beside a woman riding a donkey and with a cow and a dog. A shepherd and sheep at the right. In the background a river, bridge and castle. Front-a continuous landscape with many figures and in the background churches, ruins, statues, a harbor, etc. Right side: a landscape with a monastery in the center. Back-a continuous landscape with figures in the foreground and buildings and a harbor in the distance. The monastery at the left is the same as the one painted on the right end. A landscape with figures, a castle, a river and a ruined tower. The interior is painted white with gilt partitions and two glass inkwells each with a cover with a landscape in enamel.
