About this object

The background is in white enamel with a lattice of raised dots, centering each a lavender color dot. Two cartouches on each of the two sections and on the top are painted in full colors and have frames of raised white scrolls. The scenes on the lower half are Venus instructing Cupid to shoot his bow and arrow, and a scene of a seated godess writing beside a pyramid. On the upper section are a putto playing flute, and another putto writing on a tablet. On the top is a putto with a spyglass.
