About this object

In the center of the platform is an urn with a dark patina, bulbous shoulders and narrow below, hung with swags of laurel leaves and topped by a flame. It rests on a circular base decorated with a wave motif and flanked by pine cones; the platform is rectangular and has three rectangular panels- the central one with two sprays of laurel, slightly bowed, the two flanking with rosettes in openwork. The two feet are round top-like. Plain, curved iron supports at the back.
