About this object

The white marble base of the frame has a step back near the two rounded ends. The frame itself is made from ormolu with an elaborate design of leaves and clusters of flowers which intertiwne around the edge of the frame. The ormolu is decorated with bands of dark blue enamel to create an accent. It contains a miniature of MMP dressed in an 18th century costume to represent Marie Antoinette. She is facing to the right and is seen three quarters length. Her hair is dressed high and powdered. The backgorund is plain.
