On cover in niello and silver is a picture of Falconet's statue of Peter the Great in St. Petersburg, with buildings to each side and the names Peter I and Catherine II in Russian letters. On back in the center is a medallion with a picture of a village gate, the whole against a pattern of quatrefoils in silver on niello. Borders, top. bottom and sides are acanthus leaves engraved in silver on a nielloed ground.
