About this object

Upper and lower parts gilded. Lip flares outward and foot is ring shaped. Around the body in niello on a stippled ground are two panels, one with a horseman galloping to the right and one with a ship in full sail in a harbor. Between these are panels with leaf motifs in silver and silver gilt in nielloed ground.
