About this object

The flask is octagonal. Four of the sides have a leaf and floral pattern engraved in silver gilt with a niello pattern for the background. Alternating between these are four sides engraved with allegorical figures of the virtues in gilt against a background engraved with triangles, partly nielloed. Each figure is within an oval with leaf motifs on top and bottom. Each figure has its name in Cyrillic letters: Faith (Vera), Hope (Nadezhda), Love (Liubov), Truth (Pravda). Top has gilt and nielloed scrolls. Screw cap has gilt and nielloed scrolls around sides and star engraved on top. There is a loop for suspension. The object is not marked.
