About this object

Handles and foot are undecorated. Plain bands on upper and lower parts of the cup section except for a rope design line. On front is a round medallion with Peter the Great monument in St. Petersburg. On the left is a part of a building and on the right a sailboat. Scene is in niello on a stippled ground. Rest of the tankard is decorated with scrolls and flowers in niello on stippled gilded ground. Detachable cover has two bands with nielloed leaf scrolls, one plain band and finial with tree flowers. Interior is gilded.
