About this object

Swedish silver bowl on a raised base. Lower portion of the bowl is gadrooned. Protruding lip features shell-like designs separated by x-shaped scrolls. Base: narrow at the top near the bowl with additional light lips featuring shells and x-shaped scrolls. Circular base flaring at bottom and decorated with gadrooning is separated by blade-like decoration which narrows to form a pointed tip. Base rests on four feet in the form of neoclassical designs on a shield. Marked in exterior of base: “Gronvall.” All caps within have lozenge shape: “three crowns” in a heart-shape; C4’ and on oval with small crowned figure facing proper left.
