About this object

On tip of the handle is a ship labeled HALFMOON. Below this is a bust labeled HENDRIK HUDSON and then a vertical inscription HUDSON RIVER. In the gilt bowl are enamled two ships, one labeled HALF MOON 1609, and the other HENDRIK HUDSON 1909, probably a Hudson River boat. On the back is a bust labeled ROBERT FULTON and a boat labeled CLERMONT.
