About this object

The set comprises a large compote and 4 smaller fruit bowls. All have similar decoration. The bowls have a flat rim decorated with a row of concentric pointed arches. The sides of the bowls have three cast and applied lion's heads and between two of them an engraved crest consisting of a griffin's head with wings. Each bowl has three angular feet in the form of dolphins with the tails touching the bowls and the heads on the base. The bases repeat the arched motif on the rim. Each stands on three feet with decorated with a stylized plant form in low relief. The base is screwed to the bowl so it can be taken apart and be used separately.
