About this object

The bowl is made of two-layer glass, white and deep blue with some gilding on the rim and interior. The edge is scalloped. The interior is white with blue quatrefoils on the rim. The underneath is blue with white lozenges formed by cutting through the blue layer, separated by cut rays. A hole in the center allows a screw to fasten the bowl to the stand. The base of the stand is light weight silver, is tiered with bands of tongue-shaped motifs; the stem is formed of three dolphins, balanced on their heads, tails upright, supporting a ring to hold the bowl.
