About this object

The tall handle is in two sections, the outer one plain, the inner one decorated on each side with a spray of leaves. On the top of the handle are four stones, two green and two red. In the center of the top scroll is a green stone on each side. Set in the bottom scroll is a red stone on one side, a rust-colored stone on the other. On each side of the body, three larger cabochon stones: one green, two tan (agate, cat's eye?). On the sides are large, plain scrolls and baroque sways in repousse. On the front is a monogram [transcription] and a date [transcription].
