The cover has an all-over picture of a battle scene in repoussé. On the foreground is a large cannon and a nurse attending a wounded soldier. In the background is cavalry at the left charging a trench or bastion at the right. The back is plain. There is a repair at the lower left of the cover. The inside only is gilded.
